Got a problem with a 20xe with standard ECU/injection set up
What happened is while doing something else on the car I left the ignition on and while I was working on the engine I could hear a buzzing noise. That noise turned out to be number 4 injector continually firing emptying the contents of the fuel rail in to the inlet manifold/cylinder. I know this because when I turned the engine over petrol was spurted out of the breather pipe that fits on to the back of the SFI box and the engine made a hell of a noise trying to compress the petrol in the cylinder.
I have had injector fault codes up (81 82 83 84 as in high voltage on injectors) up on Wednesday (last time I started the car) and also have a fuel pump relay problem where the relay will cycle (buzzing) when the ignition is turned off.
How can I tell if the injectors are failing?
I have change the fuel relay and cleaned all earths/plugs without any effect.
So has anyone got a clue what is happening?
