FAO MkIII GSi owners - Inst Consumption

My mechanic's meddled with my throttle body abit recently and after that, I noticed that the trip computer's reading of instant consumption has gone up from about 1.2 to 2.0!

Can anyone tell me how the trip computer sorts out the intant consumption calculations? Throttle position sensor?

The injector opening duration. (ie fuel used).

It is idling high ? Would have to be quite high to get 2.0 though.

Maybe he has left the butterfly open too much

    It doesn't normally idle high.

The butterfly could be it. I'm suffering a major lag in initial part throttle response right now...
