Hi Folks, recently my car has become very smokey on idle.
The engine is quiet no noise on start up etc but if you leave it idling for a while it bellows blue smoke.
If you then get in and drive away it smokes for a while and then finally clears, quicker if you boot it.
Looking at my oil pressure gauge, it idles at 3 bar and then reving increase to 5 bar maybe slightly more???
I have all kinds of theories from turbo seals, bottom end valve stem seal?? Has anyone with experience of these engine got any ideas???
It seemed to smoke on idle at first when parked up hill, but on the flat it now still smokes.
My turbo return was removed and cleaned the other day but now looking at the pipe, it has oil running down the outside of it, nothing serious but noticeable.
Any help please folks. The performance is still very much there by the way.
Engine has covered 100,000 miles i change oil every 1000 miles, running phase 2 chips at 14 psi with 3.5 bar fuel reg.
