I'm after some advice from all those that have experianced the joy/pain of putting throttle bodies on a vauxhall 16v, especially Animal (we met a while back at SBD and you showed me your calibra with TB's).
I've got a MkIII Cav with a transplanted 16V that was running 48 Dellortos but in the quest for more power and drive-ability I've invested in TB's with an MBE ECU, swirl pot, red-top lifter pump etc etc etc. I've almost finished fitting it all and now only have one thing to do - the air filter.
The way I see it is that cos the inlet is over the back of the engine I'm gonna fit a mazda 323 bonnet vent I've already purchased to ensure it's fed lovely cold air, but filter wise what do I do?
I reckon I've got 2 choices - I can chuck a filter on such as an ITG JC50 or fabricate some sort of air-box type thing (like a Scooby) that fits directly under the vent.
What have you guys (or girls) done? How do you stop the airfilter getting soaked by rain and covered in crud? Is there another option I haven't considered?
Advice from those of you who have been there with this converstion, or those that have some good advice or bright idea would be appreciated.
