Been busy this week. After fitting the rodbolts with weekenny at the weekend I spent monday painting my camcover and generally tidying up the engine bay. The car went in to have the new exhaust manifold fitted on tuesday. I was quoted 3 hrs but it was much more complicated than that, and ended up taking 2 days, lucky I was off work. To fit the manifold the guy had to drop the antiroll bar and remove the radiator and oil filter (as we though kenny ). Once the manifold was on it was obvious that the stainless system I had was far too narrow for the 2.5 inch output from the manifold so I ended up having to get a complete new system fitted. It was made in 2.25 stainless. 2.5 was considered but there is not a lot of space under the corsa and the fitter had a job bending the 2.25 over the back axle so I was glad we went for that. The centre silencer was also junked and I now have just the rear silencer. Check out the pics.
I am very impressed with the performance with the new manifold. Power delivery is much smoother and top end performance is electrifying (wasn't too bad before lol). The price was very reasonably too at 280 notes all in for both the new exhaust and manifold fitting. For any scottish miggers the place is city tyres and exhausts in kilmarnock. I am also very happy with the sound. I was worried it would be too loud with such a straight through system, but it is absolutely fine, even better than before. All in all I am pretty chuffed. What do you guys think?
