Re-sleeving an XE
The general consensus seems to be that you can overbore an XE block to about 88mm per piston.
What I'm wondering is, when you come to rebuild the engine, you won't be able to bore any larger and due to engine wear, putting more 88mm pistons in won't result in a perfect fit.
Could you resleeve back down to 86mm? Is it worth going to 88mm in the first place?
I'd be interested to hear what people think.
blocks are cheaper than a rebore, rings and pistons, so in that scenario youd just pic up a replacement s/h block.
