Ive just bought a complete calibra 2.0 16V today for £100!! lmao Ive got it to transplant the engine into my astra mk3. the engine is excellent drives really well, very fast and torquey, just pulls really well right through the rev range. rest of the car is ok too.
Just need to know a few specifics now for the transplant,
will i need to buy anything else to put this engine in the astra (its current engine is a 1.6 8v mpi). i understand i can use the calibra drive shafts, hubs, suspension arms, engine mounts, is there anything else?
What has to be done about the exhaust, will the calibra manifold go in the astra, and then i could buy an astra gsi de-cat pipe and exhaust? or do i need to get a astra manifold?
can the calibra power steering stuff be fitted into the astra? if so how is this done? and if it cant be done how do i take it off the engine, is it just a case of unbolting the pump?
what wiring in involved in putting the engine in the astra, is it just starter motor, fuel pump and alternator wiring?
is there any point in using the calibra front suspension shocks? my shocks are standard astra ls 1.4 stuff are they gonna be up to it?
