The time has come for me to sell my LEXMAUL inlet manifold.
the 8 valve 130 lump is coming out to make room for a cav turbo engine so I will not be needing the inlet manifold.
This inlet manifold was bought from the essen motorsport show in germany for £450 new and gives bags of torque to the 8 valve engine, the difference is quite amazing. All origional throttle body and pipes fit straight on. I never had my car dynoed after i put it on but according to lexmaul you should see gains of bettween 8 - 15 bhp.
The inlet tracts are longer for added torque and the intake charge enters a balancing chamber to equal the flow through the tracts. It is red with machined face and makes an 8 valve engine bay look some thing speacial. Also it sounds absolutly amazing, you will have never heard an 8 valve engine sound like this before.
If you want to know what it looks like, look in total vauxhall at the pvd advert i think and it looks similar but only for the 8 valve engine. You wont see many of them over hear and ive never seen another one at any show either.
I will accept £200 for the manifold and Im sure you will agree thats a bargain as inlet manifolds dont wear out.
If ya interested e-mail me or leave a message on here.
ummm so it will fit my 1.8 8v sri engine but with no way to tell if any power gains. £200 is a bit much to spend just to see if any power increase. does anyone know if there is any advantage of sticking it on my engine?
i know its me selling it so im bias but it made a hell of a difference on mine....... and i aint making any witty bhp increase figures up, just told ya what lexmaul say, Being a german company if they say minimum of 8bhp, by law it has to be......all i know is that it made a hell of a difference on my 2.0 and it looks and sound the ****** too........ i wont have a problem selling it just rather see a proper enthusiast buy it from mig or vpcc.......
I've got a similar item on my 2L 8v engine - an Irmscher inlet manifold. Without a doubt, the larger and straighter runners made the engine much more fun to drive, making it rev out all the way, whereas before it got resistant at about 5K.
However, I find the claimed BHP and torque figures a bit optimistic for the Lexmaul item. I'd say that it's the head and throttle that hold the engine back.
Testing of the Irmscher item showed a few percent torque gain and a few percent power. Like about 4BHP. And Irmscher (or was it PMC cough cough) claim it adds 12 lb-ft and 6BHP or something.
The Lexmaul item would still be a good idea especially if further tuning is planned.
well it certainly works well on my cav as far as im concerned it was money well spent. Ver smooth power delivery with bags more torque. it drives really well. Its a shame to get rid of it really but mr turbo is making me do it.........
