hi guys, i thought that this would have been asked before but i've searched and little has come back.
my mate sold his redtop Corsa (~180Bhp with mods) and bought a R plate Vectra 2.0 LS 16V. Problem is its the 20XEV ecotec engine. He has rebuild many vauxhalls with redtops but never ever bothered with an eco-crud engine.
He doesn't hate the engine but asked me to post (his inet connection is down or he would ask) about the best things to do to this engine to get more power from it. Its totally standard at the moment. I'm not asking for just the huge things but like all the stuff to do to this engine starting from the little things that work best upto the big things like TB's.
I don't think he wants to swap the engine but does want more power from the current one. Someone once told me that removing the EGR valve on the 20XEV is worth 10hp - is that even remotly true?!
Also he will want to remove it anyway, how is it done on that engine?
are there any mods which he should steer clear of? e.g. i've heard that some vauxhalls really don't like induction kits...anything like that?
is removing the cat worth while?
