Can someone please give their opinion on my pump pressure, and weather or not I should replace it....
When cold and running the gauge is on full bars on the dash. When the engine is warm, the pressure will drop to halfway on tickover, and return to full when driving is resumed.
After a long run, and when the oil is at its thinnest, on tickover the gauge can read between one and two bars. When driving in say fifth around town at 35-40, the pressure is at 3 bar, then it goes to full when faster, or when in fourth.
As odders says,it sounds as its ever so slightly low when warm, and is prob due to slightly worn bearings.
Oil pumps are quite reliable and its far more likely to be bearing related than the oil pump.
