I've got a Proton (which I solely use for work travel while my Astra is off the road, and I'll be getting a GSi this week. ), and I'm having trouble with it. It's a general problem, not Proton-exclusive. After travelling for a few miles, the electrics start fading. The lights, indicators, everything lose power gradually until there's nothing. The engine runs fine, until I stop the car and try to start it again, in which case it's a click. I know it's something electrical of course, but I think the Alternator was changed by my dad recently (I hate the thing, I won't even touch it). Could it be a bad earthing?
BTW, if anyone offers you a Proton, punch them in the face, they're the worst cars I've ever driven!
