This is a 20xe loom from an Astra GSI 1992.
Right, easy bit first. Straight after the loom enters the engine bay there are 2 connectors, one is 3 pin and the other 10 pin.
I dont seem to have a home for these. Are they both to do with check control? pictured below.
Now the harder bit....
The Astra CD 1994 that this is going into has on the dash side of the loom 3 plugs, one is the fuel relay base, the other 2 are 4 pin and 9 pin.
The gsi loom has 4 plugs, one again is the fuel relay base, the other 3 are 6 pin, 6 pin and 2 pin.
None of which are the same shape and colours as the ones I took out.
In my dreams I thought that they would be just a case of plug in and play with a few exceptions
What way do you all play this game? Do I cut and connect same colours to same colours using the original Astra CD connectors on the end of the gsi loom?
Some colours in the gsi loom dont have a mate on the CD dash side.
I have black with white trace on the CD loom which isnt on the gsi loom.
On the gsi loom I have
black with brown trace
red with white trace
That dont have a mate on the CD loom (Traction control?)
The (single terminal) temp sender on the CD is a small blue and I have a small blue on the gsi loom....But I also have a fatter light blue on the gsi loom which definately goes to the temp sender so the 2 small blues cant go together can they?
As you can see I could really do with some help here please. I dont want to just suck it and see, rebuilding melted wiring looms isnt what I want to make my lifes work
