been offered a 1.8 8v engine for my nova
its out of a cav sri
had lots of engine work
no injection included, so i think id go for twin carbs
been offered twin 42's for 250 with a manifold, is that a good deal?
also was told to get a f16c box, not an f16? is that all correct?
isit worth it? i was going to put a corsa gsi lump in it, but with the 1.8 8v, i could expand to a xe head later on?
your thoughts would be much appreciated
The engine is more than likely a 18E unit, 115bhp as standard and they go quite well.
You carn`t get twin 42`s as i`m aware of, they come in 40,45 and 48.
The F16 gearbox comes in two forms, one a wide ratio (F16WR) and one a close ratio (F16CR), the close ratio is better for sprinting and the wide ratio is better for cruising ie motorway travel etc.
yeah mart is right about the carb's, for the 1.8 8v i would put the twin 45's on,
if you are interested i have a 2.0 8v engine out of a sri 130, and a f16 box for £50
