20xe corsa gsi
bascially im helping somebody fit a 20xe into a corsa gsi soon and iv never done a big block conversion before.
need to get a list of parts we will need.
not sure what hoses to use? what is diferent?
can we use the corsa driveshafts with cav 1.6 inners?
what downpipe for exhaust?
been told we will need a powercap, is there any alternatives?
cheers in advance
need astra gte shafts with same number of abs teeth on cv and astra hubs ground down to fit in the corsa knuckle.
engine, loom , ecu, gearbox
use existing fuel hoses, use 20xe coolant hose to top of rad (cut it short) use 20xe hose to top of corsa rad. mix n match worked best for me.
the manifold will run to where the cat used to be and ull need to extend this to meet the existing system (flexi pipe or weld ur own)
you dont need a powercap at all mate,in fact wen i do it next time i will NOT use one.
Makes the engine have about 2mm clearance from bulkead and have to ben d brake lines away from bulkhead as its a it tight back there
You have to cut the thin plate at the top of the bulkhead that the scuttle attaches to to allow the cap to fit fully in.
Get a ecotec pipe and make ur own throttle body flange adapter. No cutting needed and is cheaper too.
Id consider cutting the sfi box to size and fibreglassing it up, looks neat and keeps it vauxhall.
i bought a astra gte 16v throttlecable which is perfect length for the corsa, and doesnt hang or flap round the rocker cover.
any Qs about this dont hesitate to pm me or post, more than willing to help.
BTW its easier than you think!
im getting mixed opinions on the powercap thing still :-/
any reason why cav inner cvs cant be used on the corsa shafts?
