F28 oil level
right, to cut a long story short lost all my gearbox oil last night and the haynes manual doesn't seem to include turbo's, so anyone know where I check the gearbox oil level from, and where I can fill from aswell??
There are three plugs involved, all similar in size and appearance
The fill plug is on top of the gearbox, it's got a protective plastic cap on top of it, you just pull it off
The drain plug is underneath
The level plug is on the side. Take the wheel off and you'll see it, it's a couple of inches away from the driveshaft.
When I find a diagram I'll post it on my website under 'gotchas and tips'
Filling is fiddly, unscrew the breather at the top (IIRC 13mm open-end spanner, it's not perfectly round) and fill with a long pipe if poss, going into the box.
As for the level plug, I'm sure there's one half way up next to the n/s driveshaft as it enters the box, much the same as the other Vaux 'boxes.
so I fill through the breather? so whats the plug towards that back at the top that looks like a golf tee?
is the fill plug the one with the flat disc protecting it?
thanks for your help guys.
