What oddball is saying is get rid of the electric pump completely and just use the mechanical pluger one just like on the SR setup, then you will have the correct fuel pressure for that engine.
If you are doing an engine conversion why not go for something a bit bigger than 1.4? Or is it an insurance thing?
The 1.4SR isnt that much quicker than a 1.2i to be honest, its a lot of work for not much extra power.
Even if its an insurance thing a much better bet would be a 1.4 SRi engine(82bhp) or a GTE/GSi engine(100bhp),both theese engines are prety lively engines in a nova, the 1.4SR engine feels dead in comparison, they have a terrible design of head.
I would have though ANY fuel pump designed for an injection sytem would be WAY to powerfull for a carb, you dont wanna mess with petrol as i believe its quite flamable.
Whats wrong with the mechanical pump that you will allready have on the cam housing anyway, why waste money on a leccy pump when you have a perfectly good one anyway??
