OK so we're talking about a Cav 2.0i 8v.
Friend of mine is itching to put a turbo from a Nissan 200sx.
Now I'm sceptical that it'll work myself.
But if anybody has any experience or opinions, Id' love to hear them.
Laughing all the way...
Nissan 200 sx turbo onto Cav 2.0 8v? MAJOR work, pistons, Fabricate exhaust manifold, turbo oil feed pipe, etc, etc etc.
Don't tell me, he just so happens to have a 200SX turbo in his garage ? lmao
Scrap heap chalange comes to mind lmao
Yeah you get the idea !
But we like to make the impossible possible !
Perhaps it's a little adventurous, manifold and a pipe shouldn't be a problem. But when we start talking pistons, I think we'll leave that.
I wonder if there's an easier way ?
Well If you want to know more about N/A engines changed to Turbo, have a look on www.opeltuners.com
hahahaha, you are willing to fabricate a manifold and fit an oil cooled turbo, but not touch the pistons? hahahahahahahahaha
Yes, turbo-conversions can be don without changing the pistons.
Back in the 80's when turbo's where very populair a dutch company (mosselman) did conversions, with no changes to the engine block.
It all depends how far you go and how much power you want.
You can not have one bar pressure and no engine changes.
How ever, if you use less turbopressure you can get away with very less changes.
The turbo "without changes" is also know as LPT (low pressure turbo). Saab uses it on some models.
