It seems that crank oil seal went of on the side where gb is,so oil is causing clutch to slip.So I need to take down gb,clutch,flywheel...and above all,it has tx box on still....but without cardan/rear axle shafts and rear diff, took them down when tx box went off!
So,do I need to remove left shock/spring to get to the gear box or I need to take down engine?!?!
When clutch pedal is up in neutral gear, there is wining noise from the transmision, but when I press pedal it quiet down?! So,what I need to check while gb will be off for changing crank seal.
Car is Opel Vectra 2000 20XE (91)
might be easier to remove whole engine and separate from gearbox not to disrupt the 4x4 system.
Mine did the same and caused the clutch to slip, so off came the flywheel, prised out the old seal and replaced with a new one, new flywheel bolts (with threadlock) and a new clutch. Never had the problem since.
Its a pain when this happens but youve just gotta fix it.
