Been asked on another thread about this, so I`ll start a new one.
Easiest way forward is to have a complete donor GTE.
I swapped over almost everything mechanical, GTE front struts, drive shafts, engine/gearbox, complete exhaust(no cat ), rear beam for discs, also petrol tank.
My original car was a 1.5 8V so not sure how relevent this all is to the 1.5 16V.
Power steering, on the 8V the pump is mounted on the end of the block, so you need to swap pumps, I kept the original steering rack and grafted the GTE power steering in place, if I remember right one of the pipes can be connected direct to the rack the other has to be spliced, or you could have a new pipe made up special, this is because the union nuts are different.
Radiator, the GTE one wouldn`t fit as on the Nexia the mounting holes in the cross member are different, so I retained Nexia one, it`s bigger anyway, the GTE hose just fits.
Exhaust, I fitted the complete exhaust, as my Hreg donor didn`t have a CAT and the MOT tests the emmissions on the age of the engine NOT the car . BUT the backbox is too short by about 2" you`ll need to adapt it or get a Powerflow or other custom fit backbox.
Petrol tank, the original tank has an internal pump, and I still don`t know what the outlet pressure of this pump is so I change evrything over, GTE tank and pump, made wiring up easier too, since had I thought though, would a MK3 Astra GSi pump fit into the Nexia tank?
Rear beam, this had to be done looks good too.
ABS, I have removed mine and this involves swapping the master cylinder from 2 port? to 4 port?, couple of reasons, firstly my donor car didn`t have it, I`m told that Daewoo ABS and VX ABS aren`t compatible, and with the Nexia having a different ABS unit the OMP strut brace wouldn`t fit!!
Wiring is start forward, if you know what your doing, I spent 2 weeks with the trusty Haynes manual working out what I needed for the loom, this preparation paid off too, made life VERY easy, just a note about the ECU if you intent to sell it on the immobiliser code is in the ECU so you will need to supply it with the ignition barrel and key, simply use the one from the donor.
Gearbox linkage, this apparently differs between the GTE 8V and GTE 16V, well on the Nexia it`s the same as the GTE 16V so no worries there.
Washer bottle, the SFi box fouls it, so you need to swap it. I keep the Nexia expansion tank because the hoses looked neater then going right round the front of the engine, so my washer bottle came from a MK3 Astra, simple.
The swap took me and a mate 2days, from driving in to driving out, the only thing that needed sorting was the backbox.
Any questions feel free to ask, and I`ll try my best to answer them
