4x4 headaches with cally turbo
can anyone help?
The story so far
Driving along minding my own when out of the blue bonnet connects with windscreen OUCH!!!!
Car gets repaired on insurance but comes back with flashing 4X4 warning light.
vaux dealer decides after 3 weeks i need to change t box
t box sourced and fitted today but 4x4 light still flashing.
temp sender different to mine as 2 wire instead of 1 which i had. Will this effect it ?.
Also could the problem be on the valve block for ATF distribution.
Any suggestions will be greatfuly appreciated
Box has different temp. sensor, so have you connected it up or is the wire into the loom unconnected?
If its not connected then ecu will drop system into 2WD.
Thanks ill try connecting it up !!
Fingers toes and everything else crossed
1) The flashing 4x4 light. This is normally caused by the wire breaking on the pressure soloniod which rubs against the bulkhead soundproofing.
Can't see how a flashing 4x4 light would be caused by a faulty tx box.
2) Temp sensor. On your 1995 model you will now need to fool the ecu into thinking the tx box temp is ok. This can be done by fitting a 4K1 resistor between chassis and the brown/blue spare wire ontop of the accumulator bracket.
This all sounds confusing would i be able to use my original temp sender if i had an adaptor made up to the size of the original 1 wire switch.
Yes if you still have it.
Adaptors are available from http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rs.king/cav16/
Why don't you have a look where the temp sensor wires go
and what is connected to the brown/blue wire single connector ontop of the accumulator bracket
and let us know,
Sounds like wiring damaged when repairing bonnet (or during incident) and a perfectly good transfer box changed for no good reason.
