Spent an hour or two on it today, I'm getting everything except a spark.
Ign lights, fuel pump runs, I have pressure at the injectors, engine turns over nicely. When I blip the immobiliser on I get no fuel pump and no ignition lights - so I am guessing the immob is working correctly?
It's starting to do my head a bit. The only thing that has happened is that the fuel pipe to the injector rail came off and it pumped about 5 gallon on the road. As to why I havn't got a spark now i Have no idea.
The only thing I can think of is that i have been unlucky and have lost a sensor in a bizarre coincidence.
A few people have asked if it has a ignition cut off switch, ie a device that cuts engine in the event of an accident or a sudden loss of fuel pressure but cant find anything - will a corsa Gsi with a c20xe have such a thing?
Got a tame professional grease monkey coming to have a look on Tuesday night but if you have any suggestions i'll have another bash before then. I have already wiggled everything/ broke remade connections etc.
Right, further investigation reveals no spark from the coil, but power to it.
Mechnic man is pointing at crank sensor or ignition amplifier.
I have noticed no ECU light on the dash (however I can't remember if it had one when it was running) and also the battery was flat again tonight. So the question is, how do I check for power at the ECU - ie to which colour wires do I apply the multi meter to?
I also have been unable to find the diagnostic plug (ok not a lot of use if no power to the ecu) so from which model car do I go and cut one off in the scrapyard and what colour wires do I splice it to coming off the ecu( I assume)?
