I've got two wires left over from rebuilding the engine etc....
Both are 2 pin plugs which I believe are both gearbox related. One is a white connector and one is black. I know theres a connector at the front of the Gearbox but I aren't to sure where the other one is. Any help on this appreciated.
Whats the best oil to put in my F28? Is there a right and a wrong way to fill it up?
The oil is pretty simple. First, undo and remove the lowest plug (underneath) to drain out any existing stuff.
Now remove the plastic/metal breather plug at the top of the box. It's a bit tricky due to limited space.
Also remove the level plug, which is halfway up the gearbox next to the N/S driveshaft.
It's fiddly, but start squeezing oil through the hole where the breather went. I used a fairey liquid bottle and hose, it took ages. You stop filling when oil reaches the top of the level hole, revealed when you removed the level plug (or starts trickling out). Refit all the drain/level/breather plugs, preferably with new washers.
As for what oil to use, it's been discussed on here a bit. I just use gen. Vaux stuff, it's been ok so far.
