A really strange thing happened yesterday. I was out at the car and heard this high pitched whine from the back. It turns out the fuel pump was running with the engine off, the keys not in the ignition and the immobiliser set. When I turned the ignition on I heard the fuel pump relay click on and then off as normal, but the pump continued to run even with the relay off (different tone of pump noise). I pulled the multiplug between the ECU and fuel pump and the pump stopped, after I plugged it back in the pump stayed off, but then 10 mins later it came back on of its own accord, again with the ignition off. I checked all the wiring and everything looks OK. It didn't do it last night or today but I am confused as to how the pump can get power independant of the relay on the MBE loom (the relay definately works as normal). The car still starts and runs fine, but if the pump comes on through the night I might end up with a flat battery. Any ideas?
