Ive fitted a new cam belt to my c20xe.
How well do other peoples cam pulley timing marks line up with the cam cover markers,My inlet cam is nearly spot on but the exhaust cam is a good half tooth off.
Is that ok,how accurate does this have to be,as there is no way of adjusting this unless you got vernier pulleys.
Has anybody got any pics of theres they can post?
I set TDC using a DTI gauge as i dont trust the the crank pulley and pointer,so the above cam timing marks are still off bang in the middle of the dwell of TDC on the crank, ive turned the engine a good few times and valves dont touch, its just not bang on,and i like things to be bang on!
I suppose its just manufacturing tolerances.
Can anyone describe where the cam lobes should be pointing roughly with no1 pot at TDC?
