Anyone know if you can get this with a standard sky dish and box? If not what can you get on it?

You can get it but you need a "freesat" card from Sky to make the most of it - they were around £20 if I remember rightly.
Without it you end up missing out some channels.
Have a look at wwhttp://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/ for further information - everything you need to know is there.

Ta Dom, reading the sky site they'll do it all for £175 installed ,but if an existing box out of subscription is used it's £25 fo ra card using own box/dish....reason i ask is a friend gets **** tv reception or it's a dodgy aerial in rented property and landlord won't sort the aerial, as not obliged
Grab the £25 card - if your friend is renting then they can always take the box with them if they move and bung up a new dish (or secondhand dish etc)

i brought a freesat box from argos for £29.99 and plug it in to my origanal dish,299 channels including radio, job done![]()
just buy a dreambox
imho freesat sucks balls compared to freeview... you dont get dave, quest, and a few other channels that are on freeview.
We canned the sky subscription a while back but held onto the 'free' stuff.... its basically normal analogue stuff with a couple of oddball extras.

Fixed broken gearbox calc :)
I bought a Freesat HD box when I moved into a new place. Is was about £60 for the Bush HD box and it works well plugging right in to the existing dish on the house.
Took it to the flat I let for work and through the communal dish good too.
Channel selection is not good though.
BBC and ITV in HD is thumbs up.
Another good feature (especially in Scotland) is you can pick up all the regional UK BBC and ITV channels. STV is cutting back on some of the expensive English TV series and you will also get the odd game of football extra.
