Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

As above, my upgrade is due now. Anything decent about? Or is there anything new due for release? Had a look on the o2 website and I'm not impressed by anything really.

Liked the look of the LG Viewty but after talking to friends about it I may steer clear.

Currently have the N95 and I am not interested in the 8GB black as A: Its the same phone, 2: Its been out since Kilmarnock last beat either of the old firm and F: I don't like the N95 that much anyway.

Hit me up.

Oh and I don't want an iPhone.

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

I know there is a Nokia N85 IIRC that is due for release soon, has a TV built into it. Saying that it has been due for release for at least 6+ months on the Nokia site.

No inspiring phones at present, ordered an iPhone about 10 minutes ago. If I don't like it when it arrives I will return it and go from there?

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

Agreed. Nothing is jumping out this year. The N85 could be interesting. I've been chopping and changing between Sony and Nokia the past few years, happy with either really. Not keen on any other brands really.

The only times I have had anything but a Nokia phone I have thought they were horrid non user friendly things, so what do I do? Get one from Apple?

N96 Looks decent. Priced here at £535. To be honest it looks like what the N95 black should have been. I hate these "facelift" versions that take up so much time before an actual new version is released.

Yeah but I mean if you are on contract they don't have any in or know how much they will be charged at, if at all, depending on your tariff. Gutted.

I knew what you meant mate, thats direct from Nokia, not o2. I might hold off a month or two. See what comes out towards Christmas.

X1 could be a hit or a miss looking at it. If the touchscreen is good, it will be a great phone, if its crap, it will be a very long year.

Not keen on the "thumbs" keyboard either.

HTC Touch Pro ftw, or wait for the Touch HD in a month or two.

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

It's a pov spec HTC with linux on it. Admittedly linux does get rid of the abomination that is wm6, but the HTC TouchFlo3d does too and is miles sexier than android. It's 90% of the Jesusphone's slickness, with what is actually a good phone underneath. It can even send MMS pmsl.

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

The google android is only on t mobile when it arrives.

the HTC Touch Pro is am awesome phone, and its better than the Diamond.

The Nokia E66 is a good handset if you want a good performer thats good at everything.

Samsung Tocco is good, and better than the Omnia which has had some major problems.

Sony Ericsson C905 slider will be out soon that looks well packed as well, if I had not gone for an E66 from my E65 I would have waited for the C905.

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

My girlfriend has a Tocco and it it's pretty good at what it does. Nice and slick, easy to use, browsings pretty good. It's not a business phone which the Touch Pro is, but if you don't need the extra capabilities then it's a good phone.

Don't see the HTC being available on O2 anyway?

The C905 could be a winner if its available before Christmas. Tocco looks good, I'm weary of Samsung and full touch screens though..

That HTC Touch Pro looks nice but the screen is small. Still haven't been swayed away from the iPhone yet...

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

Small? It is biggr than a lot of other phones and it also has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. But if screen size is everything and you don't mind paying through the nose for applications etc, then go for the Jesus Phone.

The HTC will of course run any of millions of different free and commercial, non-locked content and can run Tom-Tom Navigator 7.

Re: Phone upgrade time. (for me too)

Does the 3JesusPhone do java yet? Not that good a web experience without it I'd imagine... Sure the iTunes store will work though.

It's had a great publicity campaign but it's missing so many basics, presumably due both to the massive overhead that the UI imposes and Apple's commercial model lol

No MMS on the iPhone, and issues with the address book etc, IIRC. Still as the old saying goes, you pays your money, you takes your choice....
