New Xbox Experience

Who's been following the upcoming NXE for the 360?

It looks like Windows MCE with Mii's

I'm looking forward to the install to hard drive feature, save those flaky drives

I'd hold off updating if you have a flashed drive too, till its confirmed safe.

Re: New Xbox Experience

It does look like a pretty cool update, something different...no other consoles change their load up menu so something else Microsoft have done before anyone else

Adds a bit more edge to the 360 too

Re: New Xbox Experience

aside from paying a somewhat rip off fee for a 120GB hdd, is there a way to fit say a 500GB hdd to the 360 without chipping/softmodding it etc? I use live and would find the game to HDD transfer a good thing but 8.4Gig wont last long (that the remaining space on my 20GB lol

You can whack a laptop hard drive in there without much hassle. Have a look under the tutorials section on xbox-scene.com, i can't as i'm at work at the moment.

I think it's just a case of clone the hard drive, plug it in, and job done. Something i'm going to have to check when i can if this update does allow you to do stuff like that, mate has a dodgy xbox so can install games on his xbox with my hard drive then play them on my xbox. Hopefully that will work anyway

now that would be a sublime little trick lol (might even be a use for the spare 360 under the stairs )
Will look on xbox-scene when I'm home.

You can only currently fit a 20GB or 120GB HDD.

I dont know too much about it but AFAIK there is a security file located in the HDD, I know if you copy the security file from a 20GB to a 120GB you only get 20Gb of useable space, If the other HDD ever gets used at the same time as your hacked one, you will get banned

If you did want to install a 120GB it has to be a WD BEVS drive, I think theres an app called HDDhacker, still not sure if it works for 20GB security file thou.

The price of 360 storage is crazy, £22 for a 64MB memory card I paid £39 for my 20GB second hand then saw them new in Blockbusters for the same price
