    Re: October meet

there is an old airstrip that is used for car meets regularly between ely and huntingdon, it now serves as the access road for a power station but being an airstrip this road is dead straight and is often used for quarter mile burnouts in case any of you were thinking of racing one another haha (which of course i am sure you're not)!

providing it didn't clash with an existing meet it might be an idea? or maybe head there after the initial huntingdon meet? just a thought. not much to do there of course, but if it's just a place to meet and test out the odd LET then you could do much worse! it's the straight in the centre of the screen.

yup, fair point. short of pulling some veg out of the ground there isn't anywhere to eat there hehehe maybe a consideration after the initial meet in huntingdon? see how the day goes etc it's a good drive from huntingdon to there too

    Re: October meet

I could probably do 04/10/09, but it's the day after my Dad's stag do, so i may not be fit to drive anywhere...

11/10/09 is better but i can be flexible.

Locations in Huntingdon for food - there's the Brampton Mill, good food and it's next to the river so would be a good photo op. Easy to find and reasonable parking too.
Or there's a place in town, can't remember the name but it's pretty much the only place round there with a car park.

you know it makes sense lmao

another place that would suit, dare i say it, would be the leisure park in huntingdon. ample parking and a few places to eat, the usual leisure park stuff. easy to get to from the a1 / a14 and the right side of huntingdon for the strip?

It's a bit low rent though, and no pubs - a Franky & Benny's and KFC.

We usually find somewhere we can chill out for a while, instead of hanging around in car parks.

    lmao No chance of that.

I think Hartford marina is the better option - bigger car park than the Mill and more space inside.

aye, i did think the mill might also be a bit of a mudbath if the weather isnt on our side...

should be good. sounds like some strip challenges might be in order too hehe

    J, T9 is a Thurlby edition Astra H diesel.

Well, as far as dates go, I will go with the majority. I'm really chuffed that we have so much interest in a more northerly meet point.

And as I said, I don't know the area so definitely need input from you all.
