That means I need everyone to bring their stupidly quick vauxhalls to meets for me to ride in. With out a dose of rapid vauxhall at least once a month I may go insane.
So our regional co-ord is gonna have no Vauxhall, but a frenchy 5?

Oh shi*e our region is doomed lmao

Don't worry peeps, I'll hopefully be keeping my XE just getting rid of the rest of the car. I'll still own a bit of vauxhall just not a whole car. lmao

Just gotta wait a few months before I can afford the car to put the engine in

In a word NO. I aint gonna waist any time on that car other than keeping its 4 wheels turning. I sooo badly need another Vauxhall.

It would be kinda funny though I guess, well as long as the engine didn''t pull its puny french made shell apart lmao

I've been thinkin bout a corsa. I like the idea of a super simple stripped out corsa on Cav turbo rims. Especially after having had a ride in James Mcbrides 2 litre ecotech corsa.

Thats one of the many ideas running through my head.

What ever I decide to do I need to raise the fiunds first. I got a holiday to pay for first. I'm going florida for a couple of weeks in April so will not have any spendin money till way after that.

What does everyone else reckon? My other ideas are:

another mk2 astra, but a proper 16v so I can fit a decent exhaust etc. Problems are that the cars are getting old and rusty now though so would almost certainly require a load of welding and a full respray. Posibly stick a turbo lump in it as well of course.

A Mk2 astra 4x4 turbo. Jake (ORKID) knows someone who might possibly be selling an ex feature car with a cav drive train in it. If so this could be quite, um, interesting . Again though there are seriouse rust and respray issues to be dealt with along with the serious outlay on refurbing a turbo engine, etc. Oh and nothing will be easy to sort out on it cos It aint a common thing.

My thoughts at the moment are that a corsa will be less rusty (well easier to find a rot free shell anyhow) and can be made to go v fast with out the big expense of a turbo, etc. If it comes down to it I can always stick that in at a later date.

Sounds like a good idea to me. But then I would say that.

Martin, like I said in the shop, all the hassle to transplant a 4x4 LET into a mk2, its going to be just as easy to drop 4x4 cosworth gear in there!

Plus you havnt got the chocolate transfer box to worry about then..... perhaps even RWD? mmmmmmmmm RWD 300bhp mk2 ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Did you get the sump off last night? I was going to mention that you just needed to separate the baffle plate from the sump but I was hoping you'd work that out after I left....... lmao

    Re: Eastern Chat

Stef, what happens if you snap the oil filter off with the thread nut still inside? Looking at the LET in bits you gotta straip an engine down to change what im guessing to be the oil pump? Had slight accident last night with a cavalier, an XE and a naff bit of belt? I.e. XE lifted as high as needed to get over slam panel, then belt snapped and XE landed with a bang, but oul filter ripped off on wing on way down........... whoops. Sumps ok though lol
