Just a heads up for the eastern peeps, i have a 93 redtop calibra in red that i'm breaking. Its Cat C, no front bumper, bonnet p/s headlight, p/s wing and the p/s strut has taken a knock.
The engine is on 96K and a mass of history, just need a couple of litres of oil and she stood a while, i friend of mine is interested but not confermed for the engine.
Full black leather with no tears or rips just a very small mark on the drivers bolster. Standard apart from a Pioneer CD player. The shell itself is mint, arches are purfect gotta check the underneath but i reckon it'll be solid.
Gonna start stripping her saturday or sunday and get some pictures organised. But if anyone what to come and view it they are welcome. Just gimme a bit of notice. My numbers 07834 493491 incase anyones not got it.

And the other good news is after 2 and a half years i've finally quit the restaurant!! Now working for Autoclean at BMW, Mini, Honda and Misti as a valeter. Very happy.

Was gonna say around £250 becuase of the low milage Dave, that'll inclode gearbox, loom, ecu, and pretty much anything else you want from the engine bay. But i do have a friend who is already interested, but if he doesn't want it you guys have first dibs.

    Lovely jubbly.

TBH, my leather is OK, O'S'F doorcard has a bubble and the O'S'F seat has a slight wear mark and a slightly collapsed lower bolster.

They're the bits I want to change

Well what a wan*er! Got the gearbox and subframe bolted in and was about 30 minutes away from being finished, started filling up the transmission oil only to watch it drip straight out the bottom.
Turns out a small piece of the sump has chipped off and the fluid is leaking out of there. So now i need a new sump! This car is really starting to piss me off!
Gonna have to order new parts tomorrow and then try and get it running by friday night cause i need to get on with stripping the calibra saturday before the bbq.
Thought new cars were ment to be less hassle?

Well what a tit i am. Took the sump off last night and discovered the "crack" is actually the overflow pipe for the transmission oil, so if you put more than the 1.6 litres it needs in it drips out of the hole in the bottom, which means the sump didn't need to come off and the car was ready to roll yesterday. So now waiting for my new sealent to turn up in the morning so i can re-fit the sump and get the bloody thing running.
God i love making things hard for myself.

Turns out the thread in the sump for the plug had been ripped off the top so the sump plug wouldn't tighten.
So picked up the new sump i'd ordered, took it home and discovered it was the wrong one and doesn't fit. And because it was after 1pm there shut till monday.
So ended up putting a couple of washers over the plug and doing it up covered in silicon sealent. Fitted it and did the last bits and bobs on the car and it was running by 5.30 tonight.

Was so happy that after 3 weeks the astra was running tonight, unfortually it was short lived. When i drove to my mates house 6 miles away it managed to used half the brake fluid.
Looks like the slave cylinder in the gearbox has split and is leaking through the over flow pipe.
So no astra for another week then.

Think i might just go burn the piece of crap. Would be alot less hassle.
Fortually the box has a 3 month warrenty, just preying they have another one to give me on monday.
Then it'll be going up for sale once its running, either going to buy a decent van or a 50 quid ****ter.

surely you can just swap the slave cylinder out of your old box? i doubt they will warranty the slave cylinder anyway.

Still means the box has to come out which is very annoying. Said everything comes with a 3 month warranty, even the drive shaft i bought, so i will be getting a replacement gearbox.
It doesn't work so i want a new one. Not pi55ing about arguing with them about it.

it would be easier just to change the slave cylinder though... you can just about get away with doing it with the engine and box still in... stop mincing and crack on

BUt how much is one of them? This is a newer gearbox with a re-designed cylinder. Apparently its ment to be alot better, can't see it myself.
