But it also means that if someone has modified their cars and not notified their insurance company then technically the insurance is null & void, and in which case the police should take an appropriate action, i.e. crush the car ,yup, make it into a tiny cube and hand it to the driver!!! (LOL)

was amusing standing back to watch. There was coppers walking the strip all night, cars parked up with lights on and there's was still numpties thrashing up and down!

Funniest one was the mk2 golf that got towed. He'd only had it on the road a couple of weeks and been stopped 5 times or something. It was deemed unsafe on the nite as he'r removed the dash bored causing a chance of impaling the passenger or something lmao When tghe drove it up on the ramp you heard him pull the handbrake up then the car start to roll back down the ramp! lmao

no it's not, either you remove it or they can stop you driving the car, and you have to have it towed away, been doing in Nottingham for a few years now

you have to have at least 70% light coming through the front windows, the drivers window, passenger window and front windscreen.this is a legal requirment and if it does not let enough light through police can require you to remove the tints by law.normally a police officer will get the person to remove a small part so they have to remove the rest.

    Re: police warning

TBH, as has been said, if you mod your car and don't tell your insurance company then you deserve to have something happen, it's a small wonder we all get tarred with the same brush if someone spends fortunes on modding a car then doesn't declare it. It's in the best interest of the owner as well TBH, if something happened to it at least you know you're covered.

As for tints, yes, they can force you to remove them or take the vehicle if there isn't enough light getting in to the car. I would imagine it's like driving around at night wearing sunglasses.

I agree the police should be concentrating on other things, but TBH if there was an accident, lets say a pedestrian got knocked down and hurt, and the reason was because the driver didn't see them because the tints were too dark, then fair play for getting them removed.

    Re: police warning

yarmouth is such a harsher place for police compared to southend as a club (eac) we do a few trips to southend sea front every now and then and they seem so much more relaxed with moddified cars down there

    Re: police warning

Not with illegal tints they aren't, they are more relaxed with the southend "scene" as it were, but once your on the town's roads or headed out, if they pull you they will nick you for anything, just like any other police force.
