| Thanks guys - i'm dead chuffed with Pauls work.
Brian, so long as everything goes ok tomorrow it'll be there Saturday, i'll be there from about 8/9ish i would have thought.
It's booked in to have some things looked at tomorrow, the EML comes on, and there's some knocking from various places i want checked out.
Plus it could do with an oil change and i just don't have the time to do it myself. |

Dan and I had both long had the suspicion that the eninge in my iE wasn't necessarily the one Opel gave it. Today that was confirmed.
I've got an X20XEV.
To quote the mechanics at the garage; 'it looks like they've just thrown it in there, shut the bonnet and f*cked off'
Refering to the wiring, some small bits that haven't been mounted, vacume hoses that have been blocked off with a screw and the general condition of the thing.
I should note that this is not anything to do with the crash.
And, to top it all off, i've got a bent steering arm, bent track rod, buggered lower arm (not the one we replaced, the other one), buggered or missing ARB drop links, shagged rear wheel bearings, the exhaust is resting on a small pipe that connects the 2 sides of the fuel tank, and it cost me £91 labour to find all that out!
Oh, and i nearly forgot - because of the VERY dodgey wiring, they can't tell if the 2 fault codes for the crank position sensor and cam shaft sensor are because of the sensors or the wiring - they tried to test the wiring, but couldn't understand how it works because they didn't get readings from wires that should provide them! |

I have considered that, believe you me!
Would it be easier to XE it than try and sort the wiring on what i have? |

| Probably in the long run yes, and also remember XEV engines love to munch a head gasket, downside is, take away the XEV and it's just an astra saloon with an XE, without seeing the wiring, I obviously can't comment toom much, BUT, I may have an X20XEV engine loom knocking about, if I haven't, I know a man who has. |

| go XE matey....in the long run will be much easier to put in a known working XE than try to rewire your engine unless you find a full loom.........just do it...use it as an excuse.....you know you want to....... |
