I don't see taking out the XEV as a downside - it's already lost the right to wear the 180iE badge by not having the C18SEL it should have (good job i didn't bust a nut trying to find a brand new replacement!). But puttin in a pukka XEV loom sounds like a logical step - except that wouldn't they have tried that when they converted the engine? Is this a SA/UK wiring issue?

i do want to, if only my wallet agreed with me! Already been looking on ebay at XE's.

If it helps, I paid £350 for my late dizzyless XE with F20 and engine loom and ecu.

And yes, thinking about how much aggro Andy's loom was (in car) could be an SA/UK wiring issue.

Yeah £350 seems the average price.

I need our resident engine conversion & SA car specialist to pipe up with his words of wisedom now.

I'd go with the XE chap, reckon it'll save loads of hassle in the long run.
And to give you an idea i bought a '93 XE'd Calibra with orginal 93k on the clock and undamaged leather for £300 with light n/s wheel damage.
Roll on Billing 2012 the dodgems are coming!!

    umm, no!

Going to do an insurance quite for iE with XE - see what i can get it for.

If everyone can keep an eye out for an XE donor car, that would be great - going to be hunting around at the autojumble saturday for the other bits i need.

will be interested to see what/who you get for the insurance....I have been talking to toni at greenlight and he said he would investigate asI got a brilliant quote from them when I spec'd up the 200TS repelica..... so giveTONI@GREENLIGHT a pm as I said to him I will be interested in being insured with him in 3 months so hopefully he has one a little research already
