    Teacher required!

I'm just about as mechanically minded as a chimp sucking a spanner, and i want to change that!

The car needs new brake disc's/pads all round, some braid lines and a backbox (standard item) fitting, but i don't want to pay a garage £50+ an hour to do what is probably a very easy job, for me.

So - on the basis that i bring all the necessary parts with me (a mixture of Vaux trade club/ebay purchases), and supply pub lunch+beer to anyone willing - who's got the space/tools/time/patience required to help/teach me?

Would preferably get the brakes done soon (i have Friday 16th off this week if that's any use) as I just looked when I've got to MOT the car - it's the 20th! A bit sooner than i thought!

Friday evening isn't possible for me unfortunatly and Saturday's completely out, and Sunday if i'm not moving house i might be at a rugby match - and if not either of those i should really be at the Eastern meet in Braintree!

Why does everything happen at once!

Don't suppose you have a dry (and lit) workspace do you, could do another evening during the week?

Hope it goes well mate, there's nothing better than being involved with working on your car, makes you more confident when tackling other jobs.

Yeah, i'm hoping to get to the piont where i only need to pay someone to do the most complex things, or things i can't do due to lack of tooling.

The little bits i have done myself have always made me feel good because i've accomplished something.

Its easy once you know how. Best way is to get stuck in. I can do engine swaps with my eyes closed now but the first one i did was with brian, who at the time was a vauxhall novice really. We just decided to do it. Had one XE nova and one 8v Astra, decided to swap em. Was fun, especially when i turned the key and it started (obviously i turned it loads before then with nothing lmao)
