    Kicking the region into gear.............

Suggestions please. What will make you keep attending, and those who currently dont, what will make you come?
Do you all want it in one place every month with extra excursions, do you want it moved around the region, or different location, i.e not a pub?
Cost is obviously a factor to some (me included) so are 'cost activities' a viable way to get members to attend?
I really want this region to grow as we had 7 members (and 1 beautiful guest) attend the Xmas do, and a couple more who regularly attend meets, but i want us to be the best region going, and make the meets worthwhile attending..

Discuss and throw ideas around here and lets see if we can get us going!

I think we've proved the southend nights can be successful in summer, excursions as additions to the main meets could be good, that way people would have something to look forward to.

Also meeting with the SE massive has been an idea thats been bouncing around for a while, so that needs a look I reckon.

Yep i agree. Southend and basildon is always a good laugh and although i could pretty much go every month, i dont think it suits every body, so maybe a once a month to southend plus static meet is an option. SE region meet will happen in next couple of months too, as long as people are willing to travel....

I will come to the meets but i normally forget wen i am busy thats my problem.

How was it yesterday at the christmas thing. I was a bit p***ed off when the reason i didnt come was due to someone who was supposed to collect my corsa but called me about 5 to say he couldnt make it.

I'm infrequent at meets, but the ones ive been to are good. I would come to more, but the static venue in colchester is well out of the way, and i cant justify the drive to sit for an hour or so in the pub (no offence).

I will also shortly start working odd shift patterns which will count me out of more, plus other family and house maintenance issues which always take priority.

I will endevour to attend meets when possible.

Yeah thats what we hoped with the Project Budget, bringing everyone together. Dethstar where would the meetings have to be for you to attend? Is Chelmsford acceptable?

With best intentions i would definately go to meets in chelmsford, as i really do like them. But life generally gets in the way of my best intentions.

I'd hate for you to change it on my account now im foreseeabley (spell check), going to be even less reliable. The needs of the many and all that.

Groovy, I also think excursions to other areas should be an option, not just southend.

I'm thinking days as well as nights, also, we could do camping weekend trips, haynes museum, bealieu (sp?), newquay, yarmouth etc.

That way, we can go do summat, and then have a and chill at night.

Also plays the family card if we behave ourselves.

True, but even a weekend away camping could be good, a pitch on a campsite normally costs anywhere between 3 and 8 quid depending on the site, 8 beers for a fiver from the local offie and your'e set! lmao

I still think day light meets in the summer are a good idea. Old aerodrome or similar for a runting the cars around day.

Oh and Mark, we would need more then 8 beers...... even each thats not enough!
If you can't get into trouble you might as well stop at home!

    Just thinking cheaply!! lmao

Of course, we can all donate beer tokens!!

What about North Weald? Is that useable?

I know theres an old airfield mapped out near boreham, but I don't know if you can get on it, or if it's owned.

Eye isn't too far for a day's excursion, as long as enough people go.

Nice part of the world too, my uncle used to live in Eye, I grew up in Peterborough before they built it up so much!

erm.... depends can you drive like colin Mcrae? Its good in places but its 'private land' but everyone uses it! There is also the odd lorry coming and going. It is bumpy but i reckon there are a few parts we can use. I can take a look if you like???
