East Midlands MIG meet location - stay at Peacock or try elsewhere?

Afternoon everyone!

I wanted to ask this question as I want to be sure that we are meeting at the best place possible. In my opinion a meet should be held that meets the following criteria

- Central location within the region that is easy to reach for the majority of members. Our region is defined as "Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire", although we do get some very nice visits from South Yorkshire folk. Is the Peacock right for this?

- Parking space - do we have enough space for the meet, without causing problems for ourselves or other customers. From what I've seen at the peacock it's never been more than about half full.

- Pub food/drink/family amenities - Are you lot happy with the pub food? I seem to recall a "chip cob" consisting of 8 chips stuffed into a baguette? lmao How do people feel about the food? Be honest. Also do those of you with kids find it's family friendly? Do the kids get bored?

So basically we need to look at the Peacock and either decide to stick with it long-term, or consider other locations. From my personal perspective I've heard nothing but praise for the meet in general, and when 20-30 people are enjoying something I'm tempted not to rock the boat

I enjoyed that chip cob lol.
peacock is a good place and had a nice following over the winter months imo. however it can never hurt to have a look at other places later in the month and stick with peacock till we have a had time to let anyone who meets there know the new venue. Just a thought.

I agree the peacock is a pretty decent meeting place... That chip cob was legendary lol

But I'm open to suggestions about moving the meet, allowing other members to make it and meet new faces.

Easy to get to from M1, A610 or A38

If you're looking for a possible change of venue could try the Unicorn at Gunthorpe. It's just off the A46 so easy to get to from Lincoln and Leicester, got a big carpark round the back and a smaller one at the front by the river.

hey all i no of a real good place nere me mayby to near but tesco in gainsbrough is empty near on the hole time theres a cafe toilets some where to buy fuel oil anti freeze and if its that close to me ill do every 1 sausage butties for what it cost me to buy the ing and sause
