    our shop refit

well work started yesterday with the refit and the removal of a few walls to free up some space in the shop

all works being done by ourselfs as with some advice from friends in trade

we got the orignal site plans and lifted floor boards to see what was load bearing and whats not

on the search we found the bathroom beams to be sitting on the wall we wanted to take down but as we are only wanting to move the wall back by roughly 1.2 meters we can use a 6x2 frame to support it and tie the ends in to the bedroom beams

we have planned to have it all done by 10th of april (while the shop remains open threw it)

ill let the pics do the talking

inside the shop before the refit (walls being removed )

    work in the store room

first thing to be removed was the old door frame

    frame up

the rest of the wall removed back to the frame

(the 2 doors you see in the pic are being removed aswell

the wall/fireplace on the left is being removed aswell (thankfully for us the last owners removed it up stairs and in the attic so makes our job a hell of a lot easier lol)

and how we left it last night

got a new floor and suspended celing coming and a new fridge got a new lay out for the shop aswell

ill update tonight with todays progress

    thanks gilly

    Re: our shop refit

well got the door and frame inplace today wanted that done to stop as much dust going up the stairs

(poster was on the door when we took over the shop lol )

also got most of the fireplace down there was a pipe coming from the roof we thought it must have been for water for the back boiler

unfortunately for us it was gas and discovered that when we hit it with the jack hammer called a mate out who capped it and soldered it and tested the system for leaks £20

and we cracked on with it a bit more

the smell was horrendous it was like when your nan gets her hair permed it stunk (not the gas more of the old fireplace )

so all in all decent progress had to go out and buy a new wheel barrow as it collapsed lol

not sure what tomorow's plans are but think we will be moving shelving in the shop and putting up dust sheets and put up the up rights for the frame and put nogins in

    thanks for looking

Have you predicted the increased turnover with the greater floorspace? :-)

Looking good. Hope your dad is ok?

lol never gave it a thought tbh lol but still got a lot to do yet hopefully when it's done it will bring some more threw the door

its amazing when we moved the papers on to the perspex stand sitting where they are now the amount of folk who still went up the back (eye's on the prize) you could say and dont even look for anything els

we argued with a local customer who went to asda for there milk that we were cheaper lol now he buys from us although we need to talk with our supplier to get it cheaper

and yeah hes ok thanks Ed - got quite a sore back at the min but hopefully it will wear off
