Nice one mate, that's a fair bit of materials for not a lot of pennies, well worth it with all the extra storage you have gained.

No, but i did used to be next door to that one. Thats a polish guy who runs a garage. Very handy as he's got a tyre machine, balancer and press's.

Re: My on-going work down the unit.

Had a spare half day on friday so went down and cracked on with the structure above the office. It shouldnt need to take too much weight, but it was important to get a good head height inside and still be strong enough to stack wheels

Decided to use sawn 3x2 and still avoid screwing to the bad wall, So instead passed the timbers through and sat them on the brickwork, leaving it free to continue moving if it wants to without pulling everything with it.

Overall did a good job, its solid and again a little over engineered for what is essentially just a shelf, but id rather just do it once and not be repairing it in the future

Bricked and cemented in the timbers then that was as far as i could go as i didnt want to climb on it too much until it had gone off. Will be boarding it and fitting more strip lights to the undersides this week hopefully

Comments welcome, As i say im no builder.

Re: My on-going work down the unit.

Havent updated this for a while as im only chipping away at it as and when i get time.

It was a bit dark underneath the build until now

So managed to get a few more strip lights up this week and cracked on cladding and painting the office.

Hung the door today and gave it a final coat. Just need to build a desk now and shelf it all out.

Plan is to get all my stock down there and get the office up and running next week so fingers crossed

The walls are bowing out and the 'supporting' beam is bowing?

The structure cannot take the weight of the roof.

Re: My on-going work down the unit.

Im sure the building will stand for a lot longer than i need it for. Honestly cant see myself there for more than a year or two.

If it was moving at any rate atall then the new plaster would have cracked on that wall, which it hasnt.

It doesnt bother me in the slightest.

Re: My on-going work down the unit.

Might aswell update this with the shed now being in daily use. It hasnt fallen down yet, and doesnt look to be moving atall. The office is finished and is a really nice cool place to work. Not as small or dark as it looks, just hard to get a decent photo.

The shelf is also in daily use and has proven to be a great investment. Currently has 3x full leather interiors, the welder, some exhausts and a load of bumpers on it, which i estimate at around 400kg. Since putting it up have stored around 15 full interiors on it so it has more than payed for itself already.

Still havent painted the floor, but it might not happen now as getting everything out will be a big job. Needs 16hrs to dry too.

Rarely advertised, But depends what you need really. If its storage then shouldnt be too hard to find on a farm, or some land with out-buildings.

Mine is for 24hr business use (within reason) so not likely to get any hassle over late night grinding etc. Also got a good contract and a standing order so that the rent is accountable.

Best thing to do is just take a drive around one sunday. Thats how i found this one.

Ooo full leather Recaro's, nice find!

Units looking good mate, wish I had a neat little office like that in mine. My computer desk doubles as parts and leftover pizza box storage.

Yea full black is actually quite uncommon. My mate has ivory in his S3 and its horrible.

Theres a Mk3 Golf and an ST170 interior up there too. its a nightmare going up there to plug the internet in and trying not to mark it all.
