Right secret santa is a cool plan but to get it to work we will need to list the names of everyone going then get another member of staff (tintin or andy ect) to draw the names and then PM us who we have.

Yeah, secret santa is a great idea, but the only way i can think of doing it easily is everyone buys a £5 present for anyone, wrap it up, no label, then pick one from the bucket. If it's yours put it back.

Silly question but any reason we're doing it on a Sunday b4 Christmas when it's going to be absolutely packed instead of the normal Saturday night??

I think that 6pm on Sunday night is a really bad idea, i'd guess we'd see food at 8pm (being the Sunday before Xmas and all) which would mean at best everyone would leave at 10pm (but more than likely 11pm), than about 1 1/2 hours till I get home (gotta drop sticky off first).

Sorry but the last thing I want is to start work at 7am on monday during peak time when I can barely stay awake.

Oh and secret santa would be a great laugh but sods law dictates I would draw out the only person I don't like.

    Sorry, been away..................

I'm easy if i'm honest. The lady on the phone said that both Saturdays were full, and that it would be approx 2hr wait in bar for a table. No-One can book on a Sunday, it's all just turn up apparently. If we turn up and wait for a table we are in competition with people who have booked, and get priority.

    What about MK/Aylesbury KFC/McDonalds?

Eating at 6 on a Sunday is fine as long as we are turning up to eat at 6 which would mean arriving an hour or so earlier so at least we wouldnt be waiting till 8pm to be seated.

re: Central Xmas Meal - 20th - MK

Sunday before xmas...no set time for a meal...yes we have a child and most finds that hinders us..so we (me and emma) will have to say no, its fair that the location is central but not knowing if we have food at 6, 7, 8...or even 9...means a hour and a half journey home, so late night and early start to make sure connie gets to nursery and we get to work it a bit to much running arround for something that is not set up properly (no dig at the RC's)....maybe a late xmas do when we all know what is happening.

Lets stop trying to put a last min meet and meal together.......
Do a late one, say mid jan and book a place and have a proper stress free dinner, even what the hell...do a weekend away as a group...get to a hotel mid saturday, meal in the evening, stay over night and go hom sunday late day.....lets chill out for once as all our meets are always rushed.

As far as i'm concerned it's still going on as planned. If you can make it, please come, if not then we will see you at a meet, maybe an evening one in Jan along the lines you suggest..

This wasn't rushed as such, but not booked as that involves a deposit, and from previous experience, that's where it normally fails.

I think the pub is far enough away from MKC not to be a problem, 4pm should see lunch people finished, but be too early for evening people, so i reckon we'll eat at 6, but if it looks like epic fail, KFC/Subway/Xscape has a load of eateries, but that will be where most of the traffic will be.
