    Talking Newbie

    Hi,

I've been looking for a MK2 Astra gte 16v and the search has led me to this forum ! I used to own a champion edition about 6 years ago and remembered that it was a laugh, so when I needed a run about I thought why not get another 16V !

This is proving much harder than I had thought. Last time I looked there were loads for sale - it seems in the 6 years or so since last owning one they have all rotted away or been modified beyond recognition or sense !

All I am after is a rust free mk2 16v preferably not in white or red. Will pay upto £1000 for a decent one. Prefer a standard car but things like wheels / exhaust don't bother me. I'm located in berkshire so would prefer not to have to travel to far !

Hopefully sombody will know of a reasonable one for sale there must be some out there.

If anyone has any advice / info about this then all is welcomed !

Rust free? chances unless its been restored... then you will be paying over 1K for it.

    Welcome anyways though.

Yes I suppose I meant not terminal rust, I'm not expecting a perfect car lol, but do not want to be having to replace the sils and rear arches.

values seem to have increased a little in the last few years. I got 1,800 for my mint champion edition with 90K in 2002 and considered that a good price ! Most 16V then were going for £500 - 700 and there was a lot around.

So what type of gsi have you got ? 1.8, 2.0 redtop, 2.0 eco ?

I've never been into the mk3 for some reason. Nice cars though and better interior by miles.
