My advice would be not to go to powerflow and instead to buy a proper system designed by people who understand the maths of how an exhaust works with an engine, NOT by some monkey with 2 gcse's who just fits whatever looks right with no knowledge of what really performs on that application or not and uses off the shelf bends that arent always optimum for the application either.

where should you get an exhaust system from turbo back, inc custom downpipe
this is a good company www.exhaustsuk.co.uk![]()
thats very very true...but not all of them are like that, like the powerflow near mehe just uses a a single section of pipe and bends it with minimal crushing in the pipe bending
imo best thing you can do is see some of the work that that particular powerflow have done and judge it by that, and also watch them make the exhaust, puts more pressure on them as when we done it the guy realised that we wernt chavvy people and knew what we were on about lmao

Yer i get what ya mean, i aint a chav, i just aint tip top on tuning and stuff, anyone here got a powerflow and a sample on what they have (soundclip)
Cheers guys
no no not calling you a chav lol...what i meant was when me and my mate went to see the guy, he thought we were stupid and we didnt know much about cars (like the local people to me), so we asked him a ton of questions and were explaining stuff to him and he was like
lmao
unfortuanatly i dont have a sound clip of my mates volvo, but ill give yuo details, the exhaust is one whole peice of pipe with a decat (cat cannot be put back in unless the exhaust is cut up again), then a very small backbox (got knows why) and a normal backbox (which is infact half the size of a normal one lmao) and then a custom style tailpipe or you have the choise of an off the shelf one...we got a section of 3" pipe and asked him to just weld that on as his off the shelf ones were crap...the exhaust pipe diametre was 2 1/4 iirc...very quite when just cruising along, sounds like a stock exhaust but with slight throttle it comes to lifethe exhaust was bent without a mandral bender i think, although i couldnt see on that side of the workshop, but when he showed us the exhaust after making it the bends wernt very "crushed" at all
also, if your after more performance that i would recomend a different company who makes proper exhausts, but if your just after a small gain and not overly picky then give it a go
ps - sorry for the longish readi feel like MSG now lmao

no i know what your on about...i agree that an exhaust has to be made exact...its a kinda make or a break for your performance...but what i also said at the end is if your after performance go somewhere else
he also asked for a sample of powerflow, ive told him about my dealings.......

Nah its cool man, well i want a sweet sound and a little more power, i need to clean my friggin icv, anyone done it? i got a guide is it fiddly? or is fairly easy and strait forward?
p.s is it a mot fail with out cat? and if i ask for one without cat will it cost more? if i print of what ur mate had will the guy doing mine understand that?
IF your vehicle is a K reg or later, its an MOT fail not to have a cat basically.

Mines N, So thats a no for me
Yeah, on an N reg, you are legally required to pass a test that you basically have no chance of passing without a catalytic convertor, unless you happen to have retro fitted an earlier engine, in which case the test can be done based on the year of that engine instead.

when we had the exhaust made we had an issue aswell, but for us it was cheaper because the guy making the exhaust didnt have to cut and weld anymore so that we can bolt the cat back in when we needed and he didnt have to make a decat pipe...plus i think your best bet would be to get a sports cat but they cost over 200 quid![]()
dont you have to provide proof of the engine year if you do that??
