I have a real happy life with a perfect wife and child on the way, we have a nice house and im working hard on my business...but...

Why when your doing well other put you down? im very fair on my work and have never had any big complaints, if i have i have sorted them in my own time and money (if its my **** up..i pay for it...basic rule), but 98% of my work is perfect and people have told me, this has pissed a few local garags off and a few bad lies have been spread about my work (one on a car i have never worked on)..what do i do? fudge up a few car to be like them? turn a blind eye and lose trade? Some times i want to give up but i love running my own business.

Think its coming up time for a big Jade show...Rolling road, Playstation Challenge, BBQ under one roof. Now thats a way to run a ****ing garage.

I know, with doing business law i can see what i can go for at the moment but here is one example:

Fiat bravo/brava needs new HT Leads...Trade £46 inc vat i fit and charge as a mate £50.
Car is only 5 months (second hand) old and sub frame falls out, mate takes car back to dealer with all of the invoices of work he has done.
Said dealer accuses me of over charging (have this in writing) as he can get leads for £20, i tell him to prove it.
He then tells a customer/friend of mine that im doing dodgy deals and charging to much...so said customer/friend tells me of gossip.
I call said dealer and have words, said dealer calls me a name and puts phone down.

Prats....sometime being a good business and treating customers like REAL people and not bank books must be wrong.

As of now any business wanting to come my way SHALL be over charged, shoddy, YEEE ****ing Haaaarrrrrrrrr cowboy trade and any complains..kiss my arse.

Then hell will freeze over, time to show these garages that a new kid is in town and ready to get his hands dirty.

If you have proof then look at bringing a slander charge against the garage that is accusing you of overcharging/shoddy work.

I assume you have a solicitor, so maybe speak to him/her about it?

I have a very, very, very good solicitor and a top london based judge as friends so a phone call will be done in the morning.

I would. Not just because 'you can'...but because a lot of your work is based around word of mouth. If it's going to affect future income, then I think said garage needs taking down a peg or two...and, as you probably know, if they are found guilty they are liable to pay you damages, and the court costs incurred.
