A gurl (non driver) has a question

Check this out. so i was buring along when my misses said dont you need fuel.
To impress i pressed the centre console buttons and with 69 on the reading i said naaa loads left !

Then she went on to ask about how acurate is it and i basicly said. "well everytime i fill up the reading says 335" so then she was askin about the average speed, fule consumtion etc and her being a freakin brainiack then asked:

So where does it get the average speed from?

i said it monitors the speed on a trip and works it out ( i dont know!)

And she then said is it the average speed from since the car was new, or since the ECU was reset or when?

Can someone explain it to her for me. Thanks

The speed etc comes form the ABS sensor or something like that and does work it out per trip, press the botton and it'll reset itself

The 4 digit code is the program number iirc,as the same FC is in a GSi cav,and that will have a different number.

The fuel comp uses a few inputs from the ECU to calculate comsumption, speed and injector duration being the main ones
