    I almost made it

Started putting the new offside wishbone and suspension back on at 10:30 this morning. By 12:30 I'd got the whole lot on, torqued up and was putting on the top suspension cap under the bonnet, when I found the thread wasn't coming through far enough to hit the nylon on the nylock.

    wtf??

10 minutes of head scratching later I realised that the top mount bearing must actually be the wrong way up so the shock strut can't seat properly. Somehow I'd fluked the other side and got it correct first time so never took any notice.

I've just finished taking it all off again, turning the bearing over and re-assembling.
Unfortunately I've scraped the hell outa my nicely painted wishbones and suspension and now generally rather peed off with life

I also can't get the trackrod end nut to go on fully. The balljoint is just spinning. So now I need a new nut for each side, weird.

Oh well... Hope you guys/gals had a great time and took loads of pictures

Wasnt a huge turnout so didnt bother with pics etc.

Decided the pub isnt what we're after, the car park was full and we had to wait for spaces and once inside it was packed with very little space to sit, complete contrast to when John and myself visited the other week. We hung around for an hour then decided to go elsewhere. We went to the Boundary House in Abingdon where we had held meets before, served witihn minutes and an almost empty car park.

From next month all future meets will be held there.

The Boundary House is original in that it was previously the house of Cecil Kimber, the inventor of the MG sports car. Its not suprising then that the
MG guys have their meets there too apparently.

Yep defintely agree to hold meets at the Boundary House from now on. The Trout Inn was a lovely pub, just far too busy on a Sunday.

As Nick said we'll be calling everyone before the next one on 3rd July and hopefully get a few more people along.
