Members please read

As of 1st Jan i will be resigning my post as Co-ordinator of the Central region.

This is something i have been thinking about over the past couple of months, i've not got the enthusiasm i used to have about my car or the club in general anymore and as a result giving up the co-ordinating is the best thing to do.

The region itself has had more members than ever but 90% of which arent interested in events/meets etc. Some of the regulars have moved on and dont attend the meets anymore and despite contacting all the members in the region (out of 48 i got 2 responses) our members just arent as interested in the events side of the club as some. I've spent the past year organising events and trips on my own and to be honest have wondered why i bothered at times. I get the flack for not doing enough in the region then when i do only a few people are interested in attending, i know this is all part and parcel of such a position but i cant be bothered with it anymore and have better things to be doing with my time.
Dont think i'm having a go at anyone, this is just a general view i get at times.

I appreciate the time you guys have given me and many thanks for your support over the past 3 years. It has been a good run but for me things have changed and so its time to move on.

I have a flat i'm going to be selling in the new year so will be dedicating my time to getting up to scratch ready to put on the market.

I'm still going to be a member of MIG and attend the events etc even tho by the show season i may well be driving a Ford, who knows.

I'll still be sorting the remaining events inc the Xmas meal.

to you all for your help and support, i hope my replacement will carry on the tradition and keep the Central Region at the foremost of Mig Activities.

damn nick, thats a shame. the way the se region is going i can only think its going the same way. there are a few keene people that want to do stuff but defo has a lack of enthusiasm in general.

glad ur gona stay with the club or at least in the meantime. proper members are getting hard to find (not meaning to offend anyone with this quote)

That nearly made me cry!!! you know i love you Nick and i think you've done the best you can for our region throughout the time i've been a member!! you've been great with the shows and your always up for a laugh.

i can understand about there not being many members in central anymore! i think the numbers have dropped quite quickly in the last 6-12 months! I couldn't believe how few people there were at our last meet!!!!

shame to loose you as a co-ord, as long as if you do leave Mig you stay in touch with me!! And if you don't leave then you're stuck with me for a few years yet!!!!!!

You aint getting rid of me just yet, i'm still gonna be here attending the events and meets. You lot are like a family to me so i wont be deserting you.

Thing is that theres 48 members in the Central region, we used to have great turnouts at the meets but it was always a set group of friends that met up. Despite me contacting the members on a number of occasions the odd one would attend the meets but that was it. As some of the regulars moved on to other makes the numbers dwindled and my efforts seemed fruitless. Theres only so much you can do to talk people into travelling a good few miles to meet people they dont know.

TBH i felt somewhat demoralised knowing my work was going to waste and thats partly the reason behind my decision.

I'm still gonna be around as i said so dont hesitate to drop me a line or come help me with my renovating lmao
I'll also look at organising a couple of things next year away from the club so if ya interested keep an ear open

I have had a discussion with Nick this evening.

Nick's work is well noted and he has done a very good job this year as well as years previous. It would be a shame to loose Nick, as his rapport with the members is excellent and his work to date proves he is good at what he does.

Nick needs a break as we all do at times, not a total break but enough to give him time to put his efforts in sorting out things he needs to.

I have asked Nick if he would consider taking an official break, a sabbatical effectively, not givnig the position up but haing time to sort his flat etc. Nick would help as detailed with the Xmas meal and if poss attend the regional meets, fireworks etc.

Nick is considering this, and I hope he accepts.
