As with previous years we are planning a trip to Standlake Arena for our November meet and would like to get some numbers. The meeting is Under & Over 1800cc Bangers and includes a large fireworks display in the evening. This has always a brilliant day out, especially the demolition derby which finishes off the racing.
We will aim to get to Standlake around lunchtime and directions are below. We will be arranging convoys, for those of you that are interested, details of which will be posted up nearer the time.
Cost should be no more than £7 per car. I have contacted standlake and am awaiting a response about a discount, I will update you once I have more information.
There is food and drink on site, but can be a bit pricey so feel free to bring your own. Children are also welcome, although it can be a bit nippy, so make sure you bring warm clothing.
Location and directions are as follows:
Standlake Arena is located approximately 10 miles west of Oxford, and is on the A415 Standlake to Witney road. It is well signposted from the roundabout at Ducklington.
If you are traveling from the South, come up the A34 and Turn off onto the A415 at Abingdon (Marcham Interchange). From the East and North - M40 onto the A40, on the A40 Witney by-pass turn off at Ducklington onto the A415 towards Abingdon. For West Country visitors - exit the M4 at the second Swindon exit and pick up the A420 to Oxford, left at the Kingston Bagpuize onto the A415.
