    I'm back!

    Hi guys,
Just to let you all know that I'm now back from my holidays. Had a wicked time...and I really wish I was still there instead of here at work!

Sounds like you guys had a great time anyway at Billing, really annoyed I missed it this year!

Going to trawl through all the threads to see what I've missed in the past few weeks...Anything in particular been going on while I've been away?

    Nick

Whatever has happened, did so over a year ago, whatever you have heard or been told you havent had the whole story. Maybe you want to think before you post. You make comments about claire's coordination but with comments like that your dropping to your perceived level of her coordination.

And to back Nick up, in a way, he does actually seem to be the only Co-ord thats been regularly Co-ording. In my, obviously uneducated, opinion the roles should change and Nick should be the Co-ord, and Claire the Co Co-ord. Not being rude or derogatory about Claire's abilities, she's had more important things to do of late, which is fair enough i'd do the same.

    Re: I'm back!

Right, both Nick and Claire are equal, as with everyone lives we all have different priorities at different times, in the course of mig i have watched 2 people move house, decorate, new jobs, new ladies, wedding, honeymoon, more decorating etc.

We all have times when we need to focus out efforts on other things.

I have spoken to Claire recently and she is still in her role, and they are both equal.

Claire will be accessing the forums more regularily to check for news and post about meets etc.

I am more than happy wth Claire's work and I too have at times focused my attentions elsewhere. It happens to all of us at some point.

I am sure Claire is this week working on things.

    Re: I'm back!

    Right.
Well if you're all wondering what I'm doing, I'll tell you. I'm currently sorting out the banger racing in November and finding a venue for the Christmas meal.
I've spoken to Nick about changing the monthly venue and it was agreed we'd try the hungry horse in Aylesbury.

I have been to almost all the monthly meets this year, as most of you would realise if you'd attended, apart from when I've been away on holiday, which is why I couldn't go to billing, due to the dates being changed from July (after I'd booked my holiday).

My home computer has packed up twice this year so I have been limited to when I can get online and due to a promotion at work, I never get time to post online, but don't think I don't read the posts and try to keep up to date with what's going on. I have read everything that's been written and am really upset about a lot of the comments that have been made. Funny how no one has said anything positive about last year's coordination when I was playing a more active role.

I had a particularly bad time around June this year which is why it was difficult to attend PV and Castle Coombe 2, however, I don't expect to have to explain about my private life.
I hope this clears up a few things and you realise that I am still trying to coordinate the region along with Nick, and if you want things to get back on track then we both need your cooperation and understanding that we both do this voluntarily and occasionally there are things that happen in our home lives which affect our priorities.

    Nick
Whats the point in having a xmas meal in reading when the meets are in Aylesbury??

    Re: I'm back!

The Christmas meal will hopefully be held in Aylesbury, if we want more members to attend then it will have to be in the centre of the region. The HH is also excellent value for money, last year at the Carvery was great and good value also.

Problem with holding it in Reading etc is that its a fair trek for most and if they want to drink then they have to pay for a hotel which isnt cheap. Reading would be great for me and Claire as its close enough to where we live but we are co-ordinators and as such we have no problems with travelling to the centre of the region where the majority of the members live.

I'm not trying to start arguments here, i spoke to Claire last night about the remaining events. We discussed the Xmas meal and agreed to look into various venues, nothing has been decided but where we hold it is dependant on avaliablilty and access for our members.

The banger racing look to take place as normal at Standlake with the Big Bang Fireworks as last year, only £5 or so for the days racing and the fireworks once dark. I was looking for something else we could look at but havent found anything suitable. Santa Pod has been mentioned but some have said its not worth the price charged.

    I am thinking about this,

This is a car club, we enjoy our cars (driving, modifying, maintaining). Why is it then when Nick or Claire choose a new monthly venue or like this the xmas venue that people complain about distance! I thought we enjoyed driving our cars!

Is it so people don't have to stay in a hotel?? Why would you need to? because you have been drinking? if so then irrespective of distance you can't drive anywhere regardless of how far away from home you are.

Nick, you could move the monthly meet to the furthest point in our region and I would still attend, I would even encourage it if you found some godlike pub out there!

I dunno about everyone else but I enjoy the 30min/45min/1 hour drive to the pub, specially through a bit of countryside with Phatboy wizzing past every 3 minutes lmao

Likewise, i quite like the roads to Aylesbury. I seemed to have found a new found fun with a loud zorst lmao

Its a good road at night too, nice straights where ya can put ya foot down a bit.
