Went down to southend last night, got pulled over. Sef was then picked at by a Police car inspector with a fine tooth comb and they couldn't find one thing wrong.... apart from an illegal tyre
it was legal on the outside edge (about 1.8mm of tread) but the inside was 1.3mm = overinflation.
I blagged that I checked the outside of the tyre before I left but didn't think to check the inside. This managed to get me off a dreaded 3 point + fine. in the end I was given a form that told me that I had to got the front tyres replaced and get the car MOT'ed again before I could use it on the roads, and I had two weeks to do so otherwise I had commited another offense!
Now considering I planned to take SEF off the road after the Billing show next week there wasn't a lot of point in paying £120odd + £42 for an MOT just for one week. So I ain't.
Expect to see the red cally down Billing next week.
John.
