The future Project Saloon Of Doom² that I have been preparing for is no longer going to happen due to the Brown Saloon being shoved up the arse by a Seat Arosa. I estimate the impact was around 3-4mph.
The rear valance is crushed inwards, a small amount of floorpan has buckled, the rear bumper is history and the boot hatch is bent upwards slightly.
The back end feels 'loose' to drive now, doesn't feel safe if u know what I mean.
I plan to scrap the old girl after I remove all the parts that are worth something off it (wheels, seats, clocks, front bumper etc...). I paid £220 for the car, with some luck I should be able to make that back by selling the bits. Also I agreed with the guy who hit me to make a cash settlement instead of involving insurance companies, so thats another £150-200 off him).
Seeing as the project SOD² is no longer, here was the project outline:
2.5 V6 engine Mid mounted RWD, circa 220bhp of nonlaggyness
Original trim, 15" steelies covering huge brakes
BUT THERE IS A GOOD SIDE.
In preparation for the project I have already aquired the 2.5 v6 engine, in a Cav GLSi, it arrived this morning. Its metallic green, auto. Its fine! needs a damn good clean, a rear light cluster, some welding on the exhaust, tax and an MOT.
I got this car for the tidy sum of £0. All I am paying for is the travel costs to get it here on a trailer, oh and about an hours work on Ben's brothers car.
End of something, the start of something new.
John.
