    Central Region Karting Grand Prix

    So, Whos up for it?

Gonna try and arrange it for the end of July/beginning of August

Looked into a few places across the region and the best places i've found are:

    Oxford Karting

    Min' drivers: 6
Max' drivers: 12 Price: £40 per driver

    Format:
    Arrive, sign in
Select race suits, helmets and gloves
    Drivers briefing, safety, kart familiarisation
6 Practice laps to qualify for grid position
Race - first driver to cover 75 laps
    Presentation

Slipstream in MK which do the following:

GRAND PRIX SPECIAL - £40.00 PER DRIVER

Grand Prix Special is for groups of 15 or more, consisting of kit allocation, drivers briefing, practice laps, 6 x 6 lap heats, 4 semi finals of 8 laps and the first two across the line in each semi go through to the Grand Final of 10 laps. Trophies for the top three drivers across the line, plus a trophy for the fastest lap of the meeting. This guarantees each driver a minimum of 7 races.

GRAND PRIX - £35.00 PER DRIVER

Grand Prix is for groups of 15 or more, consisting of kit allocation, drivers briefing, practice laps, 6 x 6 lap heats for each driver with the top 8 point scorers go through to the Grand Final of 10 laps. Trophies for the first three across the line plus trophy for the fastest lap of the event. Grand Prix’s can be arranged for smaller groups where the format would be practice laps and the amount of heats would depend on the amount of drivers’ with the top 8 point scorers going through to the Grand Final of 10 laps.

    Klub Kart in Aylesbury

    The F2 Grand Prix
    (Minimum 16)
    4 Practice Laps per driver
    (all grid sizes 6-8 drivers)
3 heats per driver of 14 laps
    2 x Semi Finalsof 16 laps
    1 Final of 18 laps
    Price per driver £40

Give me your input peeps, best value seems to be Oxford as we all get the same amount of track time as apose to the other where if you dont qualify in the semi's etc then thats your time over. I aint saying that just cos its in Oxford, i got no probs with going elsewhere.

So, what ya think? Price etc? they're all about the same ££ wise

Re: Central Region Karting Grand Prix

I am WELL up for this..

Oxford seems to sound pretty good.. but if thats an endurance of 75 laps it may put some people off, if thats all they offer..

The Milton Keynes one looks the best choice though, when i did the karting event with davescav and steve dowdings etc thats the kind of format we had and it was great fun!

    My 2p anyway

May I come? Not technically in the Central region, but close to the border. Plus i know more Central miggers than South East miggers.

Are we on about 'clutchless' go karts? I.e. 2 pedals?

Milton Keynes, and go for the £35 option as the minimum track time people will get is exactley the same on the £35 and the £40 options. Only the good people [cough]me[/cough][cough]Gaz[/cough] will benefit from extra goes for a fiver.
